This paper deals only with primary protrusion of the acetabulum. Cemented primary total arthroplasty for acetabular protrusion in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
BACKGROUND The degenerative changes in hip joints observed in patients RA are associated with acetabular bone deficiencies. Therefore total hip arthroplasty performed in such patients requires bone grafting to restore the deficiencies. The aim of the study was to assess the long term-term results of primary total hip arthroplasty in patients with RA including an assessment of the usefulness of ...

Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is a condition characterized by the impingement of the femur and acetabulum. In Japan, this disorder has become recognized gradually. Here we report a rare case of surgically treated FAI, associated with an osseous protrusion on the acetabulum of a 30-year-old female. Plain computed tomography (CT) and reconstructive 3D-CT images clearly demonstrated an antero...

متن کاملCotyloplasty in Cementless Total Hip Arthroplasty for an Insufficient Acetabulum
BACKGROUND Cotyloplasty is a technique that involves making a perforation of the medial wall of a shallow acetabulum and then inserting an acetabular cup with the medial aspect of its dome beyond the Kohler line. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of cementless total hip arthroplasty (THA) using cotyloplasty with focusing on the amount of medial cup protrusion. METHODS Sixt...
